BEFORE YOU BUY
Welcome to the world of Warthog!
Every great instrument starts with an idea. Which modules would you like? How big should your system be? Would you choose a ready-made Warthog configuration, or would you rather design everything yourself, from the very first component to the last patch cable?
Whatever path you choose, we’ll help you find the right building blocks.
Building a Warthog Total Recall system requires a few specialized technical solutions. Together, the Central Unit, the ASR-PSU330 power supply, and the ASR Rails system provide the foundation on which you can build your own instrument.
In this guide, we’ll introduce you to these components step by step, show you how they fit together, and explain what to consider when choosing your modules.
Whether you choose a complete Warthog or want to integrate Adamsynths modules into your existing Eurorack system, the goal is the same: to create an instrument that perfectly matches your vision.
Let’s start building!
1. How Would You Like to Build Your Warthog?
01 — Discover the Warthog
Choose the preconfigured Warthog system recommended by Adamsynths.
For those who want to get started with a configuration we’ve designed. Easy peasy… Take a good look at what’s included in our system, and if you like what you see, this is the option for you. We ship your instrument fully assembled and ready to use, so once you’ve made the necessary external connections, you can start making music right away.

02 — Build Your Own Warthog
Create your own instrument using the Adamsynths modules of your choice, housed in the original Warthog Cabinet.
We provide the mechanical foundation of the Warthog system; you shape the character of your instrument.
03 — Go Fully DIY
Install the Warthog Recall system in your own enclosure and combine Adamsynths modules with conventional Eurorack modules.
Maximum freedom for those who want to build an instrument entirely around their own ideas.
2. Three Essential Building Blocks
If you’re building your own configuration, whether in a Warthog Cabinet or your own enclosure, three essential components form the foundation of the Recall system.
01 / THE BRAIN
Central Unit
The heart and brain of the Warthog system.
The Central Unit enables centralized control of and communication with all Adamsynths Total Recall-enabled modules, as well as saving and recalling their settings.
The Save & Recall functions also extend to saving patch cable connection positions, allowing the system to remember not only the module settings but also the connections between them.
It also serves as the MIDI-to-CV interface and the hub for creative tools such as the Player, with more and more exciting features to come.
This is the indispensable central component of the Total Recall system, opening the door to a whole new world of possibilities.

02 / THE POWER
ASR-PSU330
The power that brings the system to life.
The Warthog’s digital control circuitry and analog circuits both require a suitable power supply.
The ASR-PSU330 provides three power rails:
● +5 V / 5 A for digital control circuitry
● +12 V / 2.5 A for analog circuits
● −12 V / 2.5 A for analog circuits
It’s important to know that the ASR-PSU330 can also power your existing Eurorack modules, provided their voltage and connector requirements are compatible and their combined current draw does not exceed the power supply’s capacity.

03 / THE CONNECTION
ASR Rails & PatchBus
More than just power distribution.
The ASR Rails provide power to the modules and, through the PatchBus system, enable communication between Adamsynths Total Recall-enabled modules and the Central Unit.
The rail system provides 20-pin IDC connectors for Adamsynths Total Recall modules, 26-pin IDC connectors for the Central Unit, and 16-pin IDC connectors for conventional Eurorack modules and the Mixbooth.
The ASR Rails also support powering your existing Eurorack modules. Conventional Eurorack modules use the power connectors on the Rails, while PatchBus communication is dedicated to Adamsynths Total Recall-compatible modules.

3. Building Your Own Warthog System
If you’d like to put together your own configuration, you have two building options. You can use the original Warthog Cabinet or build a completely custom system in your own enclosure.
Below, we’ll walk you through the components and steps involved in both approaches.
Build Your Own Warthog
The Warthog Cabinet is a 2 × 168 HP enclosure designed specifically for the Warthog system. It accommodates the ASR-PSU330 power supply, ASR Rails A and B, and the ASR9AUME Outboard.
The building steps:
1. Central Unit + ASR-PSU330
2. Warthog Cabinet · 2 × 168 HP
3. ASR Rails A and B · up to 2 of each
4. ASR9AUME Outboard
5. Choose your modules
6. Fully assembled or DIY?
The ASR9AUME Outboard brings together the Central Unit’s MIDI, USB, and Ethernet connections, along with the Mixbooth’s analog audio connections, in a single unit.
The freedom to choose your modules: build your own sound! This configuration currently supports one Mood Wheels module and up to one Mixbooth. The Mixbooth’s settings are not part of the Recall functionality.
Finally, you can decide whether you’d like Adamsynths to assemble your system for you, or whether you’d prefer to handle the cabling, assembly, and initial setup yourself.
Go Fully DIY
Already have your own Eurorack case, or want to build a completely custom instrument? You can integrate Warthog Recall technology into your own design.
The building steps:
1. Central Unit + separate MIDI / USB / Ethernet Outboard
2. ASR-PSU330 power supply
3. Universal DIY ASR Rail
4. Choose your Adamsynths and Eurorack modules
5. Your own enclosure, cabling, and initial setup
The DIY ASR Rail is specifically designed for custom installations, allowing Adamsynths Recall modules and conventional Eurorack modules to be used together.
Flexible module selection: the system supports one Mood Wheels module. However, you can use as many Mixbooth modules as you like, each with its own dedicated analog audio Outboard. The Mixbooth does not support Recall.
When installing the system in your own enclosure, you can plan the mechanical layout, cabling, and initial setup yourself, taking into account the technical requirements of the components.
4. Build Your Sound
Now comes the most exciting part: designing the sound of your own instrument.
You can choose oscillators, filters, and other modules to create a system that matches your vision.
A little planning tip: think about your signal flow, too!
For example, you can connect three oscillator outputs to a filter with three inputs. If you’d like to use four oscillators in the same way, you can expand your configuration with a second filter.
That’s the beauty of modular synthesis: every decision you make opens up new creative possibilities.
